Pool closed as of Nov. 15th, 2023

Stay tuned for spring time opening.

Pool open as of May 25, 2023

We are pleased to announce the opening of the JOA pool on May 25th, 2023 @ Noon. This is a soft opening, with the water on the cool side as solar heating is being initiated this morning.

As announced previously, notable differences to this year’s pool season:

Along with our soft opening, we will still have some service being done in the next few days with various cleanings, stocking items, and posting signage.

To ensure an enjoyable pool season, we ask all homeowners to ensure that NO GLASSWARE of any kind is near the pool. We will have a SOLO cups dispenser, to ensure it’s easy, lest anyone forget about GLASSWARE. We will have placards out in various places with QR codes to easily report items that need attention, and for other amenities such as renting the gazebo and clubhouse.

Please read and comply with the full set of pool rules posted here. If you observe others breaking the rules or you find the grounds in unexpectedly dirty or unsafe condition, please report as noted therein so the Board can follow up.

As always, accessing the recreation center grounds and pool requires a keycard. You can apply for a new one or ask for an existing card to be fixed here.

Please continue to send us feedback anytime as you experience the pool this season - we’ll be working on getting the temperature right and ensuring an orderly experience, based on early member feedback.

Recreation Center Update May 4, 2023

If you were watching our pool thermometer last week our pool thermometer last week, water temperatures reached the mid-seventies day-and-night, even without heat. This week’s storm took it back to the sixties, but pool season is almost upon us, and we are readying the pool and grounds for swimming and general summer operations.

In anticipation of hot summer days, we're pleased to announce that you may start reserving gazebo times, now via a new rental process like the one we introduced for the clubhouse last month.

We are pleased to announce we've hired Yvette Rodriguez as our new part-time Administrative Assistant and Facilities Manager. Please continue to contact the Association using existing methods, as her hours will generally be late afternoons and evenings on weekdays, and she won't be on site during much of that time. The Board looks forward to working on longer-term improvements once we have less day-to-day operational work to do!

There are other important changes coming, and when we get closer to opening time (tentatively May 27) we'll share full details. Here are some of the headlines:

We feel overall these changes will reduce costs and expand service, even accounting for the occasional special cleanup we'll need to call for. Still, you may have concerns and questions about these changes; more details will be forthcoming, and we encourage you to send us feedback anytime!

You may have concerns and questions about how to handle incidents of various kinds and may have concerns; more details are forthcoming here and will be posted prominently at the pool as well. We feel overall these changes will reduce costs and expand service, even accounting for the occasional special cleanup we'll need to call for, and we expect to collect member feedback in evaluating how and what change ongoing.

Board of Directors Update April 19, 2023

Dear Jackson Oaks Homeowners,

With mixed emotion, we inform you of Vice President Gale Hammond’s resignation from the Jackson Oaks Association Board of Directors. Gale has been an instrumental part of our team for the last two years (and several long stints on the board in prior years), and we are grateful for her service to our community, the extraordinary grit she’s shown, the association history she’s shared with us, and her grace in continuing to serve while we searched for a replacement.

The Jackson Oaks Association Board of Directors are pleased to announce that we’ve appointed Mark Bell to join the Board and serve out the remainder of Gale’s term this year. Mark has been a resident of Jackson Oaks since 2011 and we are confident he will be an excellent addition to the Board of Directors.

Mark’s commitment to connecting with the community and his passion for improving the quality of life in Jackson Oaks make him a great candidate for this position. Among other things, Mark is committed to ensuring good two-way communication between the Board and members and ensuring the Board examines issues and potential consequences of proposed solutions when contemplating significant changes.

We want to thank Mark for stepping up to serve our community, and we look forward to working with him to address the issues that are most important to our homeowners.

We also thank all of the individuals who volunteered to be considered for appointment to the Board of Directors. We thank you for your willingness to serve, found you to be well-qualified and enthusiastic, and we encourage you to continue to be involved in shaping the future of Jackson Oaks.

Thank you for your continued support of the Jackson Oaks Association Board of Directors, and please join us in thanking Gale and welcoming Mark.

Sincerely,

Andy Francke

President, Jackson Oaks Association Board of Directors
